Surrey Police take lead in multi-agency activity to target anti-social behaviour during Halloween and Bonfire Night.

A two week operation targeting anti-social behaviour over Halloween and Bonfire Night is being launched today, 26th October, by Surrey Police and partners. Surrey Fire and Rescue, Trading Standards and local authorities are working with Surrey Police to ensure that everyone is safe and those that want to participate in the season’s activities do so without causing alarm or distress to others in the community.

Traditionally, reports of anti-social behaviour, such as criminal damage or public nuisance, peak at this time of year but Surrey Police is warning that the celebrations are no excuse for troublemakers and those who break the law face on-the-spot fines, arrest and a criminal record. Increased patrols during the Halloween and Bonfire Night periods in all parts of Surrey will ensure that the law is enforced and offenders are dealt with appropriately.

Attached to this message is an A4 poster entitled ‘Don’t be spooked around Halloween and Bonfire Night’ and a ‘No trick or treat’ card for you to print off or forward to people who you feel may appreciate it. You can also visit our web site for Halloween and Bonfire Night safety tips
